hi.....this is my 3rd post trying to get an answer to my query....i recently installed windows 7...i have two partitions (disk drives) that were both FAT32 before i formatted my D: drive to NTFS so i could install windows 7.....anyway...after install i updated all my drivers....installed all missing drivers, except 1.....my cd/dvd drive does not seem to be installed.....the case has nothing to do with deleteing my upper and lower filters in my registry....because it is not only gone from my computer....but device manager does not seem to even have a "tab" for it....so it is basically nowhere on my computer....however....it still opens up....and it still spins....but does nothing....i've downlaoded two programs, 1) unknown device identifier and 2) System Information for Windows.
SIW says that cdfs.sys is disabled and stopped....and i don't know how to turn it back on. SIW says that it is a file system driver....and it also says that cdrom.sys is stopped and instead of disabled, it sais system start.....SIW says that it is a kernel driver....
now i have no idea what that means but the main problem is that i still havn't installed a driver for my cd/dvd rom yet after reinstall of windows and i don't know which driver i need to get for it:(
please help me
thanx so much in advance for all your help.
i'm not sure what model drive i have but my laptop is an ASUS A8J laptop if that helps....
