I have a 61248 scanner and installation CD for Win 95 and 98. I need to install under Win 2000. Mustek 1200CU drivers should work OK, but while I can download files Web.exe ~ Web.w0x from the Mustek site, I cannot complete the installation because there is no download link for required files UP_LIB.exe ~ UP_LIB.w0x. How do I download these too?

I don't understand? All you should need is the TWAIN driver files (4) listed on the download site. Download to Desktop and run the .exe app.. Have you just tried that?

No, while the TWAIN driver files alone are sufficient for a digital camera, they are NOT sufficient on their own for a scanner. As the Mustek download site says:-
"Scanner-
Do not download if there is no ”Generic Scanning Module” within all file contents.
You have to download BOTH the ”TWAIN Driver and Panel” AND
”Generic Scanning Module” file contents.
( Web.exe ~ Web.w0x. and UP_LIB.exe ~ UP_LIB.w0x.)"The problem is that the Mustek site does not include a download option for the UP_LIB.exe ~ UP_LIB.w0x "Generic Scanning Module" files, and previously suggested sources for these files are no longer active. Without them the 1200CU scanner won't run under Win 2000.

Ah.........Try this

Partly there, but when I download the UP_LIB.exe file and try to run it, it copies several files to my hard drive, then opens a dialogue box saying "Place installation disk #2 into the floppy drive and press OK". As I don't have installation disk #2 to put in my floppy drive, I can't get any further. What files are on installation disk #2, and how do I download a copy of them onto a floppy, so that I can complete the installation?

OK, try this...............

Hope this helps....... :)

Many thanks for pointing me to "http://www.mustek.com.tw/Download/driv_scanr/english/b1200cuplus.html" - This is what I was looking for, as it has clear instructions and download files for installing a 1200 CU scanner to run under Windows XP, Win 98/ME/2000 or Mac. Even better, it has them in individual and also consolidated files, so even if you don't have an internet link at home, you can still get online at your public library and download the files either to a usb memory pen/stick/drive, or to a set of floppy disks. Doing it the floppy disk way will take a total of 13 floppies for XP, or 12 for 98/NT/2000. Using a usb device you'll need 16Mb free on it to download the consolidated files.
