Comment: Hi, somehow, after buying and successfully setting up a cable modem router, this file disappeared from my desktop computer...perhaps it was something I did in config., perhaps not, but the file shouldn't have disappeared completely. I am using Windows ME. Could someone please point me to or email the file (the ones I found on the net are Win 95/98 (and although ME is based on that lineage, I know that for some files they've updated them which I believe is the case here)). Thanks in advance.

Reply: (edit)That file is not on my Windows ME system or CD. It does come with Windows 98. You can try it out. Get it here: http://www.drd.dyndns.org/dll/win98/ndis2sup.vxd Run the system configuration utility. goto start-->run and type msconfig. There is a button here to extract files. Point it to the location of where you saved the above file.

Reply: (edit)I'm getting data error reading drive c" when booting WIN98. It was working OK when I last used it! The BOOTLOG.TXT file shows that ndis2sup.vxd failed to load. I've tried copying this file from this website, but I still get the same error. The file is stored in \windows\system Anyone got any suggestions, PLEASE!

Reply: (edit)Likewise.....Bootlog says...."failed to load" I have just installed an ADSL line and wonder if that is part of the problem. Some of the drivers used have similar names. Anyone know what the file does? Is it necessary?

Reply: (edit)Thanks to above link I think I've found the answer....(maybe!) The Bootlog.txt file in the root folder on your hard disk may contain the following lines, even though your computer is running properly: LoadFailed = ndis2sup.vxd If the network driver interface specification (NDIS) 2 support driver does not find any NDIS 2 drivers to support, the driver is not loaded.
