Comment:

I'm running Windows 98, first edition sucessfully. I'm planning to upgrade to Windows XP Professional.

The Windows compatability scan indicates that all is OK with my Win98 system except except one network adapter, "the existing Ndis2 driver".

I found a "!" in yellow dot for the ndis2 adapter driver as shown in the Device Manager.

When I tried to reload the driver for Ndis2 the computer reported that the latest driver is already loaded. This also occurred even after inserting the win98 CD.

What is wrong? I need help. All advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

It would be wise to undertake a fresh install of XP upgrading can be frait with trouble.

In XP it will look for drivers in its drivers database on the www, if not included in the initial install, though you need a connection to the internet, also be advised there are lots f updates for XP even since Service Pack 1
