my pc is stuck at 8bit

i have the video driver instaled but it is still stuck at 8 bit what can i do?

well i turned it off and now it wont evin boot up it will turn on then beep 3 times and the 1 more the driver is an intell 82845/g/gl/ge/pe/gv

... download this: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-...

... unzip the "iso" file and make a "cd" with it

... boot-up with that cd and it will test your memory chips

... this is worth having IBM THINKPAD A30 Hardware Guide click red "PDF"

... it gives more info on the error beep codes and details


... you could try removing the ram clean contacts and replace (without frying)
