I had to also format my PC but I have the NTL Installation CD, however everytime i try and set it up it just says my broadband modem isn't correctly connected when it is. It is USB connection so i thought it would just reconise it but according to the NTL CD it's not connected when i originally installed it, It worked fine. Why won't it now? Is there anyway around this apart from contacting NTL? is there anyway i could get the drivers maybe for free somewhere off the internet?

Hi,
What I would do is....
1] Remove the NTL program from your system completely.
2] Switch off system.
3] Remove your B-Band USB lead that goes into your system.
4] Power up, insert CD and install.
5] Connect your B-Band USB lead [with power still ON] and see what XP makes of it. It should see that you have made changes and do its own thing with your help!

If that does not work shout for help again.

Yeah I've had the same problem every time I reinstall windows....seems like the NTL installation software works once and somehow self destructs :D

First time I had the problem I think I went into the add/remove hardware section and selected the USB modem and told it to search for drivers.

After realising that my CD was kaput I got a stand alone dedicated driver for it.....register for http://www.chetnet.co.uk/ and there is a download available there....it's Ambit USB Modem drivers that you need.

Hope this helps.
