pulled the video card and all it says is MX400 on a sticker. called the place that installed it and they have no clue what they put in there. thinking that it may be an Aopen brand. i need the driver! really preturbed that they didn't give me the disk with the driver when they sent me home with the old, fried one.

son had trouble burning a cd the other night and said he used something called bps.audio converter (which i assume he downloaded) and then installed to burn the cd's. don't get that as the burner works fine if you use adaptec to burn. and of course, son did this while i was sleeping! next morning, after he goes back to college, i turn on the puter and icons are huge! wallpaper photo is grainy etc. trying to check for a better driver leads to nothing. can't change resolution past basic and colors only at 16
:(
oh yeah, this is a 64 card and it replaced a nice nvidia geforce2 mx.

any clues?

Hi,
If it's Nvidia GeFORCE2 MX400
then try:-

http://www.haostar.com/drivers.htm

If it's Aopen MX400
then try:-

thx. i will check both sites. i pulled the card again and took what may be a serail number from it. maybe i can match that to the manufacturer? i hate driver issues :)

personally, i think it should be a law that all cards, parts, etc. need to be stamped with the makers! and in english would be nice too ;)

Best of luck!!! you may need it. There should be a manufacturers name on it, pretty poor if they dont advertise there own work!

I'm not into tech problems, re "burning a cd" Try another area, general hardware? Win ME? I give in!

Have fun,

daisymay

daisymay...

you're a breath of spring during this blizzard we are having today :)

i have no idea if this video card was/is an nvidia but the nvidia driver from that site worked! now all my settings are back to normal (i think). i have been looking at such oversized icons for 2 days and these tiny ones almost look too small...but my color is normal and all the settings are changable and at full options now!

i was thisclose to driving the 13 miles to town to buy a new card since this one was driving me nuts! i would have never made it in this storm!

hugs,

jodi
