I was presented with a problem from a friend. When the computer boots up it goes to the desktop and then just freezes. I was able to pull up the task manager after a VERY long time and it showed the cpu usage at 100%. I thought it was just a bunch of spyware but I let the thing just sit for about 45 minutes and came back to the same thing. I am able to run the os in safe mode and I checked the event viewer and this is what is read: The following boot-start or system-start drivers failed to load: AFD Fips IPSec MRxSmb NetBios NetBT RasAcd Rdbss Tcpip WS21FSL I guess it just froze up trying to load these drivers? He has no rescue disk, he said hp puts the rescue disk on the actual hard drive?
