Subject: MR2800 modem on Packard Bell PC
Comment:

I have just bought a 2nd hand Packard Bell PC with an MR2800 modem. OS is WinME. The modem can't detect my phone line but I know that the cable & wall jacks etc are fine since they run with my old PC & it's HSP modem. I have tried removing the MR2800 re-booting then re-installing, still no joy. In the control panel- modem-diagnostic-more info tab, the modem info is found and the com port shown but the IRQ, address and 'UART'? are left greyed. How do I get this modem installed properly? Is it a driver problem or BIOS or what?
