I have an Alcatel speedtouch USB ADSL modem. When I startup Windows 98SE the Device Manager says the device is not present. Re-installing the driver corrects this however the same thing happens on next startup. Also when I activate my webcam (Videologic Homecam) the modem switches off and only comes on again by re-installing the modem driver. I have 2 USB ports - each device using one of these. I have the latest modem driver installed ( the webcam does not need a driver).

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Any help would be much appreciated.
