Hi

I bought a NEC Laptop (Lavie J) from one of my friends, and since it came with a Japanese version of Win XP, I have reinstalled english version Win XP on to this laptop. When I got this laptop I didnt get the installation CDs or the CD that contains the drivers.

Now after installing the English version of Win XP I dont find the Modem being identified. I have tried looking for the Hardware id(PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5457&SUBSYS_81D71033&REV_00) from the registry and trying to find a matching Modem driver on www.modem-help.com. Nothing seems to work.

I would really appreciate it if someone can help me find a Modem driver for this Laptop.

TIA
Manoj

Hi,
If you have no joy with the above pages you may have to open up the laptop and get a manufacturers name and any other numbers that are on the card. It should be pretty easy from there.
