Our Dell with Windows 95 will not run Norton Utilities so we can't open the recycle bin, defrag, etc. When starting up, we get the message "MSVCIRT.DLL is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_UatYAPAX1atZ." in three (lately five) starting program error boxes. Also a box with "C:\ProgramFiles\Norton\Utilities\SYSDOC32.exe A device attached to the system is not functioning." appears. This latter message, I think, has always been there and, I think, is related to our HP printer which works fine.
The referenced dll's are listed in several places on my hard drive including Windows\System. I tried reinstalling Norton Utilities and the error boxes are still present. I did not rename the dll's already in Windows\System before reinstalling. I tried copying the dll's from my Windows 95 CD using the Aug 2001 procedure described in PC World magazine, but that was for Windows 98 and later apparently. I couldn't figure out how to copy the dll's to the hard drive unless you have to rename the file already there in the System folder first. Maybe it did copy, but the error boxes remain
Can I correct this problem by downloading these two dll's from somewhere? What is the web site? Do you simply put the files in Windows\System or do you need to rename the current dll's first? Do the dll's need to be replaced in every place they are listed on the hard drive? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

msvcirt.dll is a Windows System file. You need to replace it because it's either corrupt or missing. Try looking around at
