Is there a way to continue using my Scanmaker E3 with the new Win XP?

Do I have to throw it away?

Anyone can tell me where to find the driver for it, please

Hi ! I changed my computer to an Athlon XP1500+, and don't have any ISA bus anymore. So I bought an Adaptec 2904CD SCSI card to make my Scanmaker E3 work under windows XP. But I cannot recognise the scanner from XP.
Even after installind SW 2.60, as I try to detect new hardware, the scanner initialises, but no new hardware is detected. Do you know if that can come from the card or not. NB I don't use any terminator, but it used to work as it is under windows 2000 without any service pack
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Luc

I have the same problem, my E3 is not working under XP despite the fact that I have installed SW 2.60. Seems like my SCSI card is ok, but Photoshop can't find the scanner. Anyone knows about a good scsi prober for windows, with diagnostics? Or any other suggestion why I can't get my scanner to work? Thanks for any reply.

In order to use your E3 with XP, you must have aspi drivers installed. Be warned that XP will give you a warning, but generally you can go ahead and install them anyway. ASPI drivers can be found all over the net. Just do a search.

I have an E3 and Windows XP, which does not recognize the E3. I reloaded scanmaker 2.60 and got the apsi 4.7 layer from Adaptec and no matter what I do, the computer doesn't see the scanner.

When I loaded XP, I had a Plextor CDR attached but when I went to switch to the scanner, no luck. This combination worked under Windows 98. I checked the cables as well as I could and even installed SW 2.60 under Safe Mode. I am really stuck here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dennis
