I've never heard of a memory slot driver. What exactly is the problem you are having?

I cannot use Memory Stick Slot on Windows ME. Maybe there is no driver for it. But SONY don't distribute drivers. So I cannot get the driver. I see device manager and `?&! USB Memory Stick Slot` marks with yellow. Can you help me?

I have the memory stick slot driver set for Windows ME which came with my R505ts Drivers CD.
If you think you can use it let me know. In return I like to get the drivers for the memory stick slot for windows 2000(probably came with yours) . I upgrade my R505 to Win2k and now the memory stick driver from WinME doesn't work with Win2k.
(Win2k detected the slot no problem).

Ditto on the memory sitck slot drivers for win2k. I just don't get it. What is Sony thinking. The support is not that good (to put it mildly). And I don't know if any of you can help but I also have in the !Other Devices area a "PCI Device" listed which I don't know what that is and two "Unknown Devices." Sound, video, firewire, modem, network, and every other thing that I can think of work on the laptop so I don't know what those are. Please post or email with any ideas. Thanks.

I AM SOOO ANGRY AT SONY. Their tech support is some of the worst I've seen in a long time. I called them and they tell me the only way to get the drivers is from the original recovery CD. They do not post their drivers online. And you have to purchase a replacement for that recovery CD. I refuse to support or buy or let any of my company buy a Sony VAIO product again.

Here is something that works for Z505JE.

I upgraded my Vaio Z505JE from Windows 98 to Win 2000 Professional, following the instructions and drivers on the Sony W2K upgrade pages specific to 505JE. All the devices I tried worked except for the memory stick. The driver installer for it was SPI60W2K.exe. That also caused the machine to detect and incorrectly install "Flash Memory".

I uninstalled memory stick and flash memory devices, and then installed the original (i.e., old) memory stick driver installer MS10W2K.exe found on the 505JEK page. It worked!

Hi there, here is a good place for those who wants a W2K driver for the Memory Stick Slot Driver:-
www.driverguide.com
If any one could kindly send me his Win98 driver for the Memory Stick to me? I was trying to install Win98 on my Z600 which came with W2K. This is the only driver I couldn't find.
Thanks so much!

Sony Memory Stick Port Is Not Detected or Installed in Windows 2000 on Sony Z505xx or L620xxx Computer

SYMPTOMS
When you install or upgrade to Windows 2000 on a Sony Z505xx or L620xxx computer, the Sony Memory Stick Port (SMSP) is not detected or installed.

CAUSE
Windows 2000 does not support or enable the SMSP device natively on these these computers.

WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, purchase from Sony their PC Card (PCMCIA) adapter for the SMSP. You can use this adapter in any computer with a PC Card slot; it is supported natively by Windows 2000. Both the Z505xx and L620xxx computers have PC Card slots that work with the Sony PC Card reader.

I did as below and it worked. Sony sucked this one... support kept on saying that I was doing something wrong. Damn support personnel!!!

I uninstalled memory stick and flash memory devices, and then installed the original (i.e., old) memory stick driver installer MS10W2K.exe found on the 505JEK page. It worked!

I have a Sony PCG-C1VP and I too am having problems with my Memory Stick not being detected properly. I have tried all the files list above and nothing seems to work. Everytime it ask for the ntmap.sys file, but it doesn't install properly. For some reason, it doesn't detect the file correctly and continues to show it as an error.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Thanks,

Jon

For Vaio PCG SR33, use the Vaio SR33K memory stick driver for Windows 2000. This driver can be found on the sony Web site under support for the SR33K. It works perfectly in the plain vanilla SR33, no thanks to Sony's piss poor documentation and support site.

I just downgraded my R505DL from XP to W2K.
Same problem with memory slot, but after a few days of struggle, finally reached MS's WindowsUpdate site to upgrade to W2K-SP2.

They have the dirver software.
You never know....
Goodluck!

I just did the same "downgrade" to Win2K on my R505DL and have run into some driver issues. I was able to get most devices working using the XP drivers, but I still have 5 Unknown Devices listed in device manager :(

Is there anybody out there that has a R505D, R505DFK, R505DLK, or an R505DSK that came with Win2K pre-loaded? If so, I would love to get copies of the Win2K drivers ...

Thanks in advance!

~Dave~

OK I'm trying to keep my cool here but for CHRIST SAKE does anyone mind telling me WTF I can find the .exe file. "I uninstalled memory stick and flash memory devices, and then installed the original (i.e., old) memory stick driver installer MS10W2K.exe found on the 505JEK page. It worked!" Reffers to I mean. what the hell is "505JEK page" what page of what media? Just tell me where the hell it is or what disk you yanked it from. and where the hell do you get the MS10W2K.exe file from. It's simple stop posting the same crap and give up the file. IDIOTS
