I am going to use a Linux LiveCD or some drive imaging utilities to do a full OS backup. I have a Sony VGN-TZ190N, which has a solid state hard drive whose driver is probably absent from the boot CDs. Any suggestions?

If you CLONE the entire hard drive to an IMAGE File, then the drivers would not be an issue.
