I can see the Iomega SuperDVD 12x in Windows fine. However, I am having major issues creating an effective dos boot disk which will permit me to see the external dvd writer and perform entire system image backups using Ghost.
I have tried the following methods on 3 systems(which can all see the drive fine in Windows) to try to see the drive when booting to DOS:
1) Standard Ghost Boot Disk with CD/DVD drivers
2) Iomega USB Boot disk
3) Dat.exe USB boot disk
4) Stephan's Iomega USB boot diskEverything fails with the following message, "FAILED TO ASSIGN DRIVE LETTER."
I must note that I can access other USB devices in dos (ie... thumb drives, usb wireless mouse, keyboard)
Iomega will not provide any support for dos issues. I have tried many times. I do not have much time and will need to return the drive within 30 days unfortunately. The following 2 links were provided to me by Iomega but that was all I got. They describe the Iomega method (Step #2 above).
ftp.iomega.com/english/aspi_drivers-w32-x86-2.exe (includes the same .pdf as
below)https://iomega-na-en.custhelp.com/c...hp?p_faqid=1441
CAN ANYONE..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONFIRM WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN BOOTING TO DOS AND SEEING A USB ATTACHED IOMEGA SUPER DVD (4x, 8x, or 12x). And if you have been able to do this, can you please provide me the implementation process ?Any direction on this would be greatly appreciated.. but I am really looking to find someone who has successfully been able to boot to dos and see either an Iomega SuperDVD 8x or 12x driver attached via USB.
Thanks,
Mike
