I posted this in Hardware forum and should be on this forum..sorry for XPPlease look at these instructions on installing and if you can help I do not understand at all....
A.VIA Audio Drivers


There should be four files in VIA Audio Driver Directory.

OEMSETUP.INF: This file inside the information for Windows
to install driver.
VIAUDIO.DLL : Audio driver in Windows User mode .
VIAUDIO.SYS : Audio driver in Windows Kernal mode.
README.TXT : This file.


B.Install VIA Audio Driver In Window NT3.51

1. Open "Main" Window in Program Manager.
2. Select "Control Panel" in Main Window, then Open it.
3. Select "Drivers" in Control Panel. Double click it to open this window.
4. Choose "Add" item to add driver.
5. Choose "Unlisted or Updated Driver" on the List. Then press "OK" button.
6. Chagne the "Install Driver" directory to the "VIA Audio Driver directory".
Then press "OK" button.
7, If it correct , you will see a pop window which shows "VIA PCI Audio
Controller". Press "OK" button to process installing.
8. Restart the computer.


C.UnInstall VIA Audio Driver In Window NT3.51

1. Open "Main" Window in Program Manager.
2. Select "Control Panel" in Main Window, then Open it.
3. Select "Drivers" in Control Panel. Double click it to open this window.
4. Choose "VIA PCI Audio Controller" on the Installed Drivers List.
Press "Remove" item to remove driver.
5. Restart the computer. AND THEN IT SAYS...A.OS/2 VIA Audio Drivers..................

THERE ARE 2 README FILES THIS IS THE OTHER ONE.

There should be 8 files in VIA Audio Driver Directory.

CONTROL.SRC : This file tells MINSTALL that subsystems and
devices that the user can install.
AUDFILES.SRC: This file tells MINSTALL which files need to
be copied, and into which subdirectories those files
should be copied.
CARDINFO.DLL: The file contains information relevant to the audio
adapter. MMPM/2 uses this information to interface with
the adapter.
AUDHELP.HLP : The file gives information to the user when the user
installs the audio adapter.
GENIN.DLL : The file the generic installation program that installs
your audio adapter.
GENINMRI.DLL: Contains the text used be GENIN.DLL.
VIAUDD.SYS : VIA Audio Physicl Device Driver.
README.TXT : This file.


B.Install VIA Audio Driver In Window OS/2

1. Place the installation diskette in drive A.
2. Type MINSTALL on the OS/2 command line.
3. Change the source drive to A.
4. Select the adpater, then press "OK"
5. If error occur, check the MINSTALL.LOG file in the \MMOS2\INSTALL
subdirectory for error message.

IF I LOOK AT THE FIRST DIRECTIONS OF THE README FILE. GOING TO B. INSTALL Via Driver in Window NT3.51???? says open main window in program manager is this the control panel if I open control panel where does it say select drivers in Control panel.? I have installed updated driver and know usually how but this one is too confusing.Can some one put it in simple terms for me. please.
