I need a OPTI 931 sound card driver for Windows XP.
I have contacted Opti and spacewalker (who produces most of the soundcards with opti chipsets) and they said that this soundcard does NOT support these operating systems. could they care less for us? If they realy cared, they would make a driver, instead they told me that I should bye a new soundcard, this time its soundblaster!

There is a driver for 95/98/Me. Simple driver ->http://www.dictacomm.com/drivers/AUDIO/OPTiSound/64_/931_Basic.zip highly efficient driver ->http://www.dictacomm.com/drivers/AUDIO/OPTiSound/64_/931_Cybrsyth.zip
but, driver for 2000 does not exist. Because, OPTi stopped soundchip buisiness. We count on the author of free software.

True, opti sold its audio chipset business long before win2k was born....but are there any 3rd party drivers/emulators that can be used?
(for those who don't know, 3rd party means those that are made by someone other than opti or microsoft)
also, can someone give me drivers for SiS 6225 VGA (video) card for win2k?....you have no idea how boring it is to work in a 16-color (not 16-bit color, just 16 color) environment!!!

Opti sold sound dept to some one. but isn't it responsibility of Opti (or whomever he may have sold) to write driver.
in my H/w manual it is written that use sound blaster pro. but doesn't work. and i don't want to purchase new card due to this.
if u get driver for win 2000/xp plz. post message.

BTC had a sound card based upon the OPTi 82C931 chipset. They have drivers for DOS, Windows 3.1, Win95 and Win98 only on their site. For those of you above who posted for Win 85 and 98, try http://www.btc.com.tw/btc2001_c/sound.html
For Linux and BSD, follow this thread: http://www.geocrawler.com/archives/3/151/2000/1/0/3226069/

Oh - I almost forgot. OPTi got out of the sound chip business. Unless you think some generous soul will be writing a driver, you're out of luck on Win2K and WinXP. OPTI will most likely not be writing new drivers for chips they have not made in years and will never make again. Switch to Linux, it's better for you anyway ;-)
Summary: hi plz help me i have a opti 16 sound card and this time i need its driver plz send me its driver i am very thankfull to u . with thanks M.Nadeem Akhtar ...
