I deleted the sound driver...Help!

I was doing some cleanup on my computer yesterday and I seem to have accidentally completely deleted all sound drivers and audio devices on my computer...everything is gone! I tried using the Windows 98 CD to reinstall whatever it is that's gone, but it didn't work. What can I do to fix it?
By the way, I have absolutely no idea what sound card is in my computer.
