I have a new HP Photosmart C4480. When it is on, I can't get any files from my new external hard-drive. I keep getting this error msg. "Windows was unable to save all data for F:\$mft. Try to save the file elsewhere." I have to unplug the printer, unplug & replug in my external, save the document. Then plug the printer back in to print. What a pain. I have read several simular issues. How do I know which solution is best? I like my new ptr & would like to keep it. Please understand I'm not a PC Geek.
