I bought two HP photosmart printers, one for my XP Home computer, and the other for my Win 98 office computer. The office machine makes a gear popping sound and the little paper guides raise up and block the paper. Not always but most of the time. I have cleaned and done everything HP site suggests to no avail. The other idnetical machine at home causes no problems for me.
