Hi all,

I have a keyboard here. It's an HP 6511-SU.

This keyboard connects to the computer via USB, features a built-in USB hub (2 ports), has a volume knob (rather than buttons), and 21 hotkeys (inc Standby, Play Pause etc).

images of the keyboard:

The keyboard functions fine under Windows XP, which is my OS. However, the buttons are set to defaults, which do not work.

I HAVE the utility for this keyboard. It works.

HOWEVER, I made changes to my registry (making it so that NumLock turns on automatically on startup, a feature that WinXP does not have by default), and now I cannot access the configuration tab for the keyboard buttons.

The keyboard was configured via a new tab in the Keyboard control panel applet called "Buttons".

Can anyone guide me towards getting that tab back? I made NO OTHER registry changes, and reinstalling the utility does not fix it. I do not have a system restore point set before the tab disappeared.

Please keep in mind: this is not a hardware problem and I am not in need of any new drivers, it is a registry problem.

Thanks,
Kevin

You do know that in most cases duplicate postings are removed, right? In fact, the other post may have already been deleted.

I confess, I'm puzzled - if it's not a driver issue, as you claim, why post here? Choosing the best forum for your question can really increase your chances of a swift resolution
