I was given a linksys WUSB11 Ver. 2.6 Adapter without a cd for the product. I am using this with a desktop and have Windows XP. I went to the linksys website and downloaded drivers to my USB port and tried to install those on my computer and have been unsuccessful. I was told you didn't have to have a modem to become wireless. I was wondering why I have been unsuccessful? I don't have an internet service provider currently but neither does my neighbor and he is wireless and has an adapter as well. Where am I missing it?

Well the first problem is that your not currently paying for internet so you can't connect to the internet unless your stealing it from someone else. If you are paying for internet then you need a router that is capable of sending out a wireless signal. Canadian Web Hosting Canadian Web Hosting
