How to fix the S.M.A.R.T.??

Can I fix the SMART on the motherboard? The message at start up is SMART bad, backup and replace. Press f1 to continue. Is this serious? Once all the rest of the start up is done the computer runs fine and runs all programs fine. Please give suggestions.

s.m.a.r.t. may not be required on your pc if you go into your bios and diable HDD S.M.A.R.T. you should nolonger get this error message. if you want more info on smart do a google search
