I accidentally deleted my sound driver several months ago when I was cleaning out my computer because I didn't know what it was. I have an Acer notebook TravelMate 2420, and I'm not sure what other details are pertinent. I think the one I deleted was called Multimedia Audio Controller. The only sounds my computer makes are occasional beeps when something pops up or something like that. Where do I go to reinstall the driver?

I've been to this site already, tried to figure it out, and I need more specific help.
I get to the point of downloading the driver, and I tell it to run the file. It opens up a folder with a whole assortment of things. I read the "Read Me" and tried to follow its directions, but it didn't work.
So, I posted on this site ... HELP
There is a CD that contains most of the drivers you may need. Buy it and select the driver to install. Or visit windows website for updates.
You can also google for sound driver. I recommend- www.brothersoft.com for the drivers download. It is not up to 70MB!

try this one, here you could get the multimedia audio controller driver corresponding with the correct model of your audio card, operating system and computer, it's really the universally compatible driver you need.
