Comment: I have an Intel 82810E graphics card, and I went through the device manager to search for an update on the driver. It found something in the Windows directory. However, upon installing the update, it gave numerous warnings that certain files could not be found. There was no way for me to exit the process, so I told it to skip those files. Upon restarting, it told me that my display drivers weren't working, and I needed to work with the lowest possible colors and resolution. While using this setup, I downloaded the latest drivers for my card off of your site. Upon installing these drivers, it ran into a problem, and told me to contact tech support. After restarting, my monitor goes into standby before windows can even load! I'm sure its a problem with the display drivers, but I can't do anything if I can't see! I can't even load Safe mode! All it does is select the lowest colors and resolution and tells me to restart. After restarting, my monitor goes into standby again! I'm so screwed! Can anyone help me?

Reply: (edit) If you disable the i810 graphics , which is intergrated graphics (onboard), disable it in device manager and then reboot ,the system should automatically install the standard VGA software , which will allow you to use your monitor , so you can trouble shoot your situation .Alot of people have problems with installing display driver updates . Unless something is wrong with you display adapter or you need something that the update will do , un-needed driver updates are not a good idea. I myself had the i810 intergrated graphics and I installed a ATI RADEON 32MB Graphics card. The Windows Update site listed a driver update for my card , when I tried to download and install it , I was prompted to put the ATI installation CD for a needed file , when that did not work I kept hitting the skip button untill it showed the installation complete . However the result was a failed update that never installed. I have decided to stay with my current driver untill I must update for a certain reason .To many things seem to go wrong when attempting driver updates ! Good Luck Nick
