I have an updated system and run Windows XPPro. I have also retained Windows ME for an old unobtainable music scripting program which I use frequently. I had trouble with the graphics on ME and consulted you. I ended up with the following
A8V-VM SE
Overview
Specification
DownloadThe Most Cost-Effective VIA 939 Solution - Socket 939 for AMD Athlon 64 / Sempron / Opteron CPU
- VIA K8M890 + VT8237A
- 2000/1600 HT/s
- Dual-channel DDR400, Max 2GB
- VIA Integrated Gfx in North Bridge K8M890
- 1 x PCI-E X16, 1 X PCI-E X 1, 2X PCI
- 2 *ATA133 ,2 x SATA
- 10/100 LAN
- 6-Channel audioI installed the correct North Bridge item, and got reasonable graphics for ME.
This is where my ignorance let me down. I had not realised just what VIA was. It has always been there and I thought it was associated with the graphics card. Big error. Anyway things ran OK on VIA till I had some problems.
When I finally checked it out we found that the GeForce 7300 , supposedly installed, had somehow not been installed. I now know what VIA relates to.
So I now have the GeForce I thought I already had. And the graphics for ME are back to 16 colours. (Why does it not still use VIA if GeForce doesn’t want it?)
What now?
Can I link ME more successfully to GeForce 7300 (I suspect not)?
Can I bypass GeForce for ME and link it back to VIA, without affecting XP?
Can I install a second graphics card for ME only (I noticed somewhere nVidia talking about a second graphics card)?
Any ideas?

I haven't a clue what you are saying. VIA is a chipset maker, they also make processors. You simply need to install the drivers for your video card, and make sure your monitor is plugged into the card's output. Sorry but your question was a little strung out.
