Subject: Gigabyte K8VT 800 Drivers?
OS: windows xp service pack 2
CPU/Ram: amd athlon xp 64 3200
Comment:
Hello can someone please help me, I am looking for the latest drivers for my Gigabyte K8VT 800 motherboard, not sure if its 1x or 2 x or even what the difference is!, I have recently reformatted my pc and since then my Maxtor 200 gig hard drive is showing 203 gigs in the bios but 137 gigs in windows device manager. I have heard that getting the latest drivers can remedy this but would be grateful of any advice.
Thanks in advance.
Rob.

137GB is a Windows XP limit in relation to LBA48, therefore you need a BIOS or XP Update see:

If you still want whatever drivers you feel you need try:

http://www.via.com.tw as they manufacture the K8V chipsets....

It seems I have to reformat to get my hard drive to read the right size, Im not prepared to do that after all the grief I have had after losing everything in a huge crash and I have just got everything going ok so I guess I will have to live with losing 70 gig on my drive, unless of course anyone knows a way to get my hard drive back to the right size without partioning and or formatting?

In XP Dixk Management you should be able to create a Partition with the remaining space.

Otherwise:
