Hi! Can anyone please help, I bought a new computer and cannot get the internet running until i switch to 256 colors, I tried the switching to super vga, the monitor as well, and it does not stand, instead it always asks me do I want to stay with such a configuration and when I say yes, it restarts and does it again. I tried the everest home edition and it is blank under PCI AGP video. I did not get any description with buying the computer, but if I remember correctly when buying it said standard PCI VGA in the store shelf. Can anyone please help. Thank you, Esad

You'll need to find out which video chipset you have in the machine and download appropriate drivers for it (not sure why you can't go online with just 16 colors---I've done it many times). Since Everest was no help, you may have to open up the case and find the main video chip either on the card or motherboard.

Hi, Thank you for your reply and sorry for my late reply. I did not manage earlier to check on the action you advised. The problem is following, I can not open the case myself because the computer is under a 6year warranty and if there are any traces of opening the warranty is gone. Secondly I wrote wrongly before, the problem is not with the internet but internet setup, I can not setup the internet with my modem and operater unless I have 800x600 display resolution. Is there any other way I can swith to this resolution? Thank you again, Esad
