Hi all, Hope someone may be able to help. I've tried about everything from the tech support sites @ Epson & NewSoft. After uninstalling all the software and reinstalling about 2 dozen times, I still get the error ' please install the supported drivers' for the Epson Twain. Have also run the DelReg app from NewSoft after uninstall. Still no joy. Any ideas to try would be greatly appreciated. TIA. Cheers, Bill2

Hi Bill2. Download and install the Epson Twain Driver - v5.54A posted 2-20-02 (middle of the page). The instructions say scanner must be disconnected from computer before installing the Twain driver. A: Make sure the scanner's READY light is on. Check to make sure your cable is securely connected to both the scanner and computer. Try a different cable. Be sure to use an EPSON USB cable. For Macintosh, check the EPSON Scanner Selector. For Windows 98, check the Utility tab on the Perfection 1650 Properties window. If you have an older EPSON scanner and have a previous version of EPSON TWAIN installed, uninstall the older version (Windows) or close any extensions like EPSON Scanner Monitor, EPSON Scanner Monitor USB, or EPSON Monitor 3 (Macintosh). If none of these solutions help, uninstall your software, then reinstall it. See the instructions for uninstalling software in your reference guide. Q: How do I reinstall the scanner software on a PC? A: For best results, first uninstall the TWAIN driver. In Windows 98, Windows ME or Windows 2000. 1. Double-click the Scanners and Cameras icon in the Windows Control Panel. 2. On the Devices tab, select EPSON Perfection 1650. 3. Click the Remove button. Then click OK to close the window. 4. At the prompt, type your CD-ROM drive letter and EPSON (for example: D:\EPSON). 3. On the Main Menu, select Reinstall Scanner Software. 4. On the next screen, click the Reinstall button. 5. At the restart message, click OK. 6. In Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows ME, you see the New Hardware Wizard screen when your computer restarts. Do NOT click NEXT! 7. Thanks for your response Linda and Happy New Year!!! Yup, have done all that except downloading the newer Twain driver. It was working fine for about 8 months then it went on tilt and I don't know what caused it. Thanks for the link. Cheers, Bill2
