Comment:

My PC (Compaq Presario 5000 Series Desktop) has a DVD ROM which was working fine with Windows 98SE. But since i've formatted my PC and installed Windows Milleniam, the DVD is unable to read the DVDs. While it's able to read CDs without any problem. The device manager shows the DVD perfectly (COMPAQ DVD 115 ROM).

I opened the PC and found out that the DVD is of Pioneer Make (Model No. DVD 115ME).

Please suggest me the solution. In case some other driver is need then please send the required files.

regards

You need to install a driver for your "DVD Capture Card" not the DVD Drive. You may find that your graphics card takes care of DVD capture, see Compaq's site for downloads.

Thanks for your help. I have installed Power DVD on my PC. But still it's not working.
U know what the main problem is thateven the Windows Explorer is not showing the DVD. If clicked after putting a DVD in the drive, it say Please enter a cd in the drive. While there seems to be no such problem in case I use a CD. windows explorer reads it without any hassle and plays it well.

I am also facing a similar problem in my Compaq Presario 5000.(Windows Me, P-III , 933Mhz, 192Mb)
The DVD player reads the CD's but it never recognises a DVD. My operating system is Windows Me Provided by Compaq.
I have tried formatting the computer but it was of no help.
