Dvd drive isn't burning my files to disc.

Specs: Windows 7
I've had problems burning discs with my dvd drive on my Acer Aspire 5542 laptop.
I have managed it a couple of times recently but lately no such luck. I use Burnaware normally but yesterday it worked fine but when I got to the end there was nothing on the dvd. I also tried Ashampoo and this time when I inserted a new disc it said there was something on the disc and that it had to be erased before I could use it. I eventually got it working and again there was nothing in the dvd. It would appear to me that the dvd drive isn't working properly. Anyone any ideas?

The only cause that I can think of is that your DVD burner is faulty and needs replacing.

Thanks Phil. I was thinking the same thing. I've tried again this morning to burn some files but even though it's gone through the programme correctly there was still nothing on the disc at the end. The drive still plays normal dvd's. I might try a dvd cleaner first and if that doesn't work well I guess it's a new driver. Cheers again.

What you need is another DVD burner: http://www.dvdconvertersoft.com/dvd...
