Hi all.
My main computer is Win XP Pro. My laptop is an IBM Thinkpad T21 loaded with Win 98SE.
Recently whilst overseas I purchased an 8 Gig Toshiba USB storage device (Thumb drive type thingy).
The blister pack said good for Windows XP, 2K etc. and Windows 89SE with a driver.
When I got home, as promised the thumbdrive worked perfectly on the XP machine but was "not" recognised on the 98SE laptop.
My laptop will recognise a 1 and 2 Gig USB thumb drive.
There was no CD with the package nor was there the 98SE driver loaded onto the thumb drive.
I have spent the best part of the day trying to find a download site from where I may download a driver but all I seem to get are either sites selling these type of products or "down load this or that" program to help you find the needed driver.
When these are explored, at the end of the day they all want you to buy the product before downloading the required driver.
To make things worse, these programs that I did find only search the machine that the USB device is installed and possibly attached to.
How could I possible use such a program on the laptop if the drive is not even detected.
To be honest I would not buy such a program anyway as this is only the 3rd time in my 5 years of computing life that I have had to find a driver so it's just not worth it.
The Toshiba site just gives me the run around from link to link,
And there you have it. Can anyone help me out with this problem please?
Regards.
Thinking hurts my head that's why I live in West Australia
