I have a Acer Aspire pc with a mobo ID#
V58XA-2N.
This is a street find and it came with AMD K6-2 3D 333mhz cpu. Everything running great except that win98 did not load drivers for the onboard sound, and I cannot match the moboID# with what Acer's web site has. The closest was the Aspire 3000,with it's line of AMD, but the mobo manual is for a different board!
Under Multimedia in the control panel everything is grayed out, and device manager does not show the usual sound, video and game listing either. Funny thing is, you can hear faint sound from the speaker line out when I played some music.
Please advise.Thanks!

Hi
Doing a google on the motherboard. I would assume the same board is used in IBM models. RageII video (2Megs ram)
Great place to get help for ACER
I cut and paste your motherboard model in the motherboard tab and got a page with 5 or 6 working links.
The pages don't point in any direction where you could get your specific driver, but they do outline which models had that motherboard in them. They also list various components, I guess its not that hard to find drivers as long as you know what you are looking for.
Try looking for an ATI 3D rageII+ driver
