I've tried installing the XP drivers for my Viewquest M318B Webcam it appears to install all but the last file and then hangs Windows. I always have to reset my PC.
I tried installing the drivers in safe mode, which appeared to work perfectly, until I went to reboot and found it refused to run Windows at all, and it just would hang on a black screen, or the blue Check Disk screen.
The drivers don't appear to be corrupt as they are the same as I always have used. I've also downloaded them again from the original site and I've also tried "connecting to the internet to search for new drivers" via the Install Hardware wizard and those drivers hang during installation too.
I had no problems installing this camera on my last PC (866Mhz P3; 128MB RAM, 40GB HDD, Win XP Pro)
New PC specs: 2.8Ghz HT P4; 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, Win XP Pro.
Any advice please?
