I used to have a Lexmark Printer. Sometime ago, I replaced it with a Hewlett Packard. Anyway, when I went into Add/Remove Programs to remove the Lexmark printer, it wouldn't let me. I got this message:
There are no drivers that can be uninstalled by this Uninstall program. The Printer Driver has not been removed from your system. So then I went into Control Panel/Printers, and I deleted the Lexmark program manually. Recently, I noticed that one of the programs running in the background was lexpps, which is from the Lexmark Printer. I ended this task and searched for this file and deleted it manually. Was it ok to right click and delete it that way? The file was only 176 KB. Someone had said about deleting some things by going into the registry. Though, I don't know anything about the registry, so I didn't want to go into that. I have also found a program called lexstart running on startup, and that is from the Lexmark printer also. So I disabled it. Should I manually delete it now? I was wondering why it won't remove the Lexmark printer's driver through Add/Remove programs? Thanks for your help.

I need to develop a simulator of a device using vc++. the Simulator has to communicate with the device's driver. hw to eastablish communication b/w simulator and the driver?
When the simulator is executed icon in the driver that shud b enabled .Actually the icon is enabled only when device is connected. hw to do this ......

The add/remove does not access the drivers folder. Yes remove the startup file for lexmk.

If you do alot of installing and uninstalling the registry is left with a lot of useless files which are may cause problems at a later date particularly conflicts with simmilar programs. Also a lot of adware, spyware and other malware place files in the registry and cannot be gotten rid of untill they are removed from the reg.
