Hi I'm also having problems with my SideWinder Gamepad, in win2000. I found some drivers for the gamepad (Ver. 3.02) but they won't install under win2000 My Gamepad is the old version of sidewinder Plz Help me Jesper

hey guys,
I'm also having problem with unknown gamepad, it seems there is no driver available !! I think sometimes Microsoft is good, but sometimes they reek !!!

2000 was never meant to be a gaming OS. WinXP is out now, and my two Original Sidewinder gamepads work fine with it. The OS has built-in drivers for them.
Also if any of you still have old DOS games, you can even get a DOS driver for it!

Yes, WinXP has built in drivers (it works, I tested that), but the software for creating profiles is missing... Does anybody know some replacement, that works under XP too? Thanx

The SideWinder software (version 3.02) included with these SideWinder game port devices is designed to work with Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98. If you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP, the operating system includes device drivers for these game controllers listed above, so the device will function properly on both Windows 2000 and Windows XP. However, the accompanying SideWinder software (version 3.02 or any previous version) will not function, so you will not be able to create profiles for these devices using the SideWinder software on Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Microsoft is not planning to update the SideWinder software (version 3.02) for game port devices.
