Reply: (edit)Did the uninstall and XP picked up - great. BUT, when I turn off laptop and turn back on, have to reinstall all over again - everytime! Doesn't seem to want to "hold" setting once power turned off. Any thoughts?

Reply: (edit)Here is how to make this work. Uninstall the Crystal WDM audio codec and then reboot. It should reinstall and will work. At that point go into device manager and the properties for this device again. go to the resources and uncheck use automatic settings. it will now retain the settings that are now working. This will also work for W2K.
