Did the uninstall and XP picked up - great. BUT, when I turn off laptop and turn back on, have to reinstall all over again - everytime! Doesn't seem to want to "hold" setting once power turned off. Any thoughts?

I have downloaded the Crystal WDM Audio Codec Driver for Win98, but I can't get it to install or run. It keeps asking me which program I want to use to open the file, and I have no clue! Any suggestions?

Here is how to make this work. Uninstall the Crystal WDM audio codec and then reboot. It should reinstall and will work. At that point go into device manager and the properties for this device again. go to the resources and uncheck use automatic settings. it will now retain the settings that are now working. This will also work for W2K.
