Comment:
I partitioned my hard drive and installed Windows 2000 on one side and xp on the other. The display driver on the xp is a nvidea which supports 32 bit colour and is OK. However on the Windows 2000 side I want to upgrade the driver for my Dell 1501FP analogue monitor as it is only displaying 16 colours. I have downloaded a driver onto my desktop, however when I click on settings, display, advanced, monitor etc the properties tab for my monitor is greyed out and I am therefore unable to update the driver. I should note as this PC is not connected to a network, I used another PC to download what i think is the correct driver on to a memory stick and transferred it to the desk top of the machine I'm having problems with.

You may be confused - resolution & colour depth have nothing to do with monitor drivers. You need to install (on the Win2K "side" - heh - ) the Win2K version of the driver for that nvidea card
If I know the answer I'll tell you the answer, and if I don't, I'll just respond, cleverly
