Im having webcam driver problems, heres what happenes, i install the software/drivers, all goes well, i reboot, it asks to connect the cam, i do, then i get the message "The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF file was written for windows 95 or later"
anyone got any ideas how to fix this? it works on other machines with xp pro on like this one. any help at all would be appreciated, no one else has been able to help so far

What camera are you using? I'm getting the same error (with a Logitech 510) and was able to solve it on one machine running XP Pro by using the original software CD that cam with the camera. I uninstalled all Logitech webcam software. Installed directx9b, installed latestet version of my camera software from logitech website. When I got to the error, I ignored it. Went to control panel, hw device manager, and updated driver for device using the advanced option and pointed it to the driver directory on the software CD that came with the cam. I had to do it twice. Once for the camera, and once for the mic.
However I can not get this camera to work with Windows XP Home edition. All my attempts have resulted in the same error.
