Reply: (edit)I managed to get the win98 drivers to work in dos mode (there are no win98 drivers on the uk vaio site but I got them from the Japanese one, it does'nt matter which Vaio model you choose as long as its the PCGA-CD51 driver you get) I needed it to mod the win98 boot disk so I could install win98 on a Toshiba notebook, here is what I did: copy Va16cli.sys, Va16cd.sys and Va16365.sys to the boot floppy. add the following to the config.sys: device=Va16cli.sys device=Va16365.sys device=Va16cd.sys /D:mscd001 The autoexec.bat has to load MSCDEX just make sure that it calls /D:mscd001 but on the boot disk it worked without having to change the autoexec.bat good luck
