dos block device driver's ioctl

I have developed a block device driver for dos,but when i format the block device,dos tell me format do not supported by my driver,so i changed the attribute word of my driver and traced my driver,i found the general_ioctl command was called by dos when i format the block device.but i have no material about this command.Can you help me ?

Better you post in the Programming Forum as that is a system software issue and there you may get some help from experienced professional coders.
