can i enable dma on my system?
its a i440zx-w977ef motherboard
the hard drive is a generic ide disk type 46
if any one can answer my question it would be greatly appreciated

An i440 chipset should do DMA and so should a generic 46 HD. Try it, there should be a check box on the properties sheet for the drive in device manager.
