CNC freeze via 9600 pro

I recently got a radeon 9600 driver for my computer so Generals wouldn't run so damn slow. everytime i play it freezes. Has anyone heard about or experienced this before? if so, how can i fix it? i'd really appreciate the help, i love this game.

many people with SiS chipset have this problem. You have to turn AGP Read/Write off. Go Start/Run, type smartgart to access smartgart window. Change the settings, so AGP read/write is off. Reboot and you should find things working.
Further some people have managed to just have AGP write turned off for things to work.
