I'm looking to buy a Toshiba laptop and it has a celeron processor. I've heard these are slow and cheap. I don't do a lot of heavy applications. Some music downloads would be the largest application I do currently. Mostly I word process or surf the net. What's the difference between these processors. Does it really matter that much or is it like Chevy's, Fords,or Dodge's and subject to preference?

I have always been told with the Athlon you get more bang for your buck ! However I have read many post of overheating problems with the Athlon. I would think what you are going to use your system for might also dictate which you chose ? For me,I like the Intel P4 for stability and quality. Iam sure a war on your ? will start anytime now! Good Luck Nick
