CD-RW Drive

My CD-RW drive will show the indicator light blinking when I insert a CD and a little CD appears on the monitor for a short time but the drive will not play or record. There is also no "whirring" sound that it usually made when starting up! The Device Manager indicates its working properly and no problems or conflicts indicated. The device is a CYBERDRV CW078D player. The computer is a Compaq Presario 6350US , 1 1/2 years old! Help!!!!

Hi, think I've got the same problem with the CYBERDRV CW078D.. When there is no CD in the drive the Autostart-Symbol (blinking CD at the mouse-arrow). When I insert any CD everything is ok.
