cd-rw drive being detected as cd-rom

my cd burner is being detected as a cd-rom drive.when i go to my computer it says cd-rw drive d...hit properties and it says LITE-ON LTR-52327s... the driver windows is giving it is cdrom.sys anyone know what i need to do to get this back to normal?
