My puter is only 1 1/2 yrs. old...I wrote a CD just seven days ago, and now...no matter what CD I put in, it will not write. The box comes up and says: "There was an error in the writing process and that my disc may no longer be usable."
The light for the CD-ROM comes on and then goes off.
I've read the previous CD-ROM problems, but none have answered my question of "Why won't it write?" I'm using the same brand of CD's that I've always used. I've even tried 2 NEW ones and get the same error.

go to the device manager and uninstall the cd and then reboot and reinstall the software for the drive If this doesnt help try cleaning the lens on the cd drive, with a cd drive cleaning disk
