cd rom not reconized

I have a toshiba satellite L305-S5875 system, I haven't had it that long, when I got it, everything worked on it. I burned a few cds, now the cd rom won't even reconize a cd. When I go to the device manager there is an exclamation point next to the device. It is a cd rom/ cdrw/ dvdrw combo. Is there something that I can do so that I won't have to take it to someone to fix it, I got online the other day, and someone told me they could fix it by remote access for a large fee. Help. Summary: Hi, when I Start my PC, There is no CD-rom Drive(ASUS45x), or if drive leter is there Cd rom not ready. But when i restart CD-rom work exelent. The problem are avelible olny when PC was been shut down...
Summary: lately when i least expect it or want it both my cd roms decide that they cant read anything or they say there is no disk in them when there is. to get them to work again i have to restart. any ideas...
