CD drivers for Dos 6.6

I cant seem to get the CD driver to work properly. Floppy and CD are interchange so when trying to install Win98 the startup disk cant find CD drive On installing Dos first to get things working I have loaded the driver and added the line device=\oakcdrom.sys/d mscd001 and in autoexec.bat mscdex/d mscd001 and on startup get the message "illegal option" I also tried OEMCD001 instead of MSCD001 Can anyone remeber far enough back to help????
